If you have private healthcare insurance you should mention this to your surgeon or oncologist as soon as possible. This is because, at the present time, due to funding restrictions, there are often drugs available privately to treat cancer that are not available on the NHS. This is more acute for certain types of cancer such as colon, rectum and lung and kidney.

With radiotherapy treatment, there is usually faster availability in the private sector. In addition, technological advances such as intensity modulation (IMRT), image guidance (IGRT), Tomotherapy, and CyberKnife are not readily available to NHS patients at the moment.

Private patient consultations are available with Dr Gaya at the following hospitals:

  • The London Oncology Clinic, 95 Harley Street (Wednesdays or ad hoc)
  • The Cromwell Hospital (ad hoc)
  • London Bridge Hospital (ad hoc)
  • Darent Valley Hospital (Mondays only)
  • The Clementine Churchill Hospital (ad hoc)
